Office 365 : from MOSA to EA

Hello,

 

I was wondering about something concerning a transition between a MOSA and an EA.

 

For example, let's imagine that my company has 1,000 users. We have purchased 1,500 are Exchange Online Plan 1 licences on a MOSA and want to move to Exchange Online Plan 1 on a Enterprise Agreement.

My questions are the following:

1. There will be an overlap in time when the two subscriptions will coexist. My Office 365 portal will show 1,500 * 2 = 3,000 Exchange Online Plan 1 licences. In case no users have been created since, we'd have 3,000 - 1,000 = 2,000 licenses left. If I create a new user, will it be created on the MOSA or on the EA subscription ?

2. How will the transition happen when my MOSA is actually cancelled? Will I need to reassign all the users to the new Exchange Online subscription?

3. Will there be a service interruption?

Hi there,

I signed up for a trial of Office 365 last week in an attempt to evaluate the setup prior to switching from Google Apps for Business.


However, every since I signed up the skydrive, newsfeed and sites sections all just show "We're almost ready!".  Following advice in other posts (both assigned server resource, checking planned maintenance and service health) with no luck.


Is there something I need to do or can do?  This is not a good start for a trial!

I am using outlook 2007 and have just bought a new computer & am trying to set up the e-mail. It works fine on the old one as it was pre-update.

I sign on using n@btconnect.com and this e-mail address is forwarded to info@mycompany.co.uk but I cannot sign into the mycompany account or set it up on outlook 2007 because it doesn't accept the password linked to that account. I have asked for a password reset but have not recieved an e-mail with instructions on what to do.

 

 

Keeping your free internal use rights

Hi Everyone,

 

I'm just wondering if anyone out there has a definite answer for how to keep your Free Internal Use Rights on Office 365 after your first year has expired? do you have to meet a target number of seats sold and if so, does anyone know what that number is!

 

I've done all the usual's and cant find an answer so hoping someone here can help me!

My organization has an O365 E1 plan. I am trying to subscribe to yammer. I believe it is free for E1 plan, right??


Anyway, it asks me for (Volume License Agreement Number). Where can I find this??

Cannot save web pages as drafts

I see the main Edit button when I highlight a web page but as soon as I start to make changes I only have Save and publish as an option.

I have lived with this for over a year thinking it was a weakness of the web builder but now I find that according to your online help I should be able to edit a page and then save it as a draft - even unpublish a page!

Please where are these functions? I gave up in frustration a year ago but now need to update the site. I don't want to work 'live' again.

FQDN Error

I am stuck on Step 2 of portal.microsoftonline.com/Setup/PlanWizard.aspx


I have already added the custom DNS record needed for step 1. 


Started step 2, entered the FQDN of www.____.com and it said it was correct, hit continue then was told they wanted to make the www CNAME themselves and that we needed to delete the CNAME from our DNS Manager. 


Once that was complete went back to step 2 (the following day) did same steps and there is no combination that now says the FQDN is correct. 


HELP!! I have godaddy hosting and can make the modifications to our DNS set up myself. Just driving me crazy as I know it is probably something small to fix. 


Spent HOURS on the phone getting bounced around from tech to tech with microsoft with no help.

After the office365 update, I can no longer send email from outlook 2010 on either desktop or laptop machines. Outlook locks up. Anyone else found a solution to this?

Mapping sharepoint site as a drive

We want to map our sharepoint drive as a network drive for each user, but the system reports an error and will not allow the mapping. we all use Windows 7 64-bit OS with SP1, and primarily use Firefox (latest version). We have tried mapping network drives with explorer (error msg indicates the sharepoint site doesnt exist), have also tried running using internet explorer and clicking on the Library ribbon (Open with Explorer) and get another error stating client does not support this function. Is anyone else having the same issue? Maybe simpler, can someone tell me how to map the sharepoint site to explorer? Thanks!

Hi, I am keen to get started with 365, but I have a few q's:


1) 25GB is not a lot in my business as we receive lots of large mails. How can we archive them to ensure we dont hit the space ceiling?


2) If I work with folders on my local Outlook 2010, will these automatically synchronise to 365 as well?

New O365 Admin Center has no option to change number of objects displayed

Hello,
 In this new version of O365, when we try to manage users (MsolUser), there is not option to change the number of users displayed, it defaults to 20. We will have to do page-by-page as 20 users.

 In Previous version, there was an option to change 25-50-100-150 at the bottom right corner.

 Same option is PRESENT  in Lync Admin Center for new new O365 Lync Online for managing the users (if it wasn't, there is no way for multiple object edit since LyncOnline Powershell yet)

 Is there a way to bring this option in O365 Admin portal (I know PowerShell can be used, but it s good to have in portal)

Bad Customer Service

We’ve been a BPOS and now Office365 customer for over two years now.  I really like the product and we continue to add services and licenses.  That being said, I’m very frustrated with the poor customer service.  There have been exceptions and a few really great agents, but generally the customer support is very bad.

I only call or submit a support request to Microsoft if I’ve exhausted my own troubleshooting, checked the forums, and asked our MS partner.  Each time I call or submit a request for support it’s the same thing.  I spend quite a bit of time explaining and re-explaining the issue, placed on hold, passed around, and asked really pointless questions.  Generally they have to call back and when they do it’s usually the same pointless process of repeating questions and basic troubleshooting.  They rarely read any of the ticket notes or comments before calling back. 

I have a few questions:

  1. Is there any way to get a dedicated, Microsoft account rep that I can work with?  Someone that I can build a relationship with and rely on for support?  Ideally someone that resides in the US? (We already have a MS partner, and there are quite a few things they cannot help with)
  2. Is there a way to bypass the first tier of Microsoft support?  The issues I call with can rarely be answered by the first level of support, especially by phone.
  3. Is there a higher level of support that I can purchase?
  4. Is there a dollar amount our account needs to reach to receive better support?
