Microsoft really didn't think this one through!! I signed up a customer on Office 365 P1 Plan recently (before the 2013 upgrade) and he just ordered a new Lenovo Windows 8 Tablet2 from me. He wants Office 2013 on the tablet and decided to upgrade to the Office 365 Business Premium which includes Office 2013. He didn't want to pay for the single PC $279 package, he wanted the Office 365 version. After spending a couple of hours on the phone with several departments, the final answer is, NO, you cannot upgrade to Office 365 Business Premium from the P1 plan until Microsoft upgrades your current 2010 Office 365 plan. Which means, I can't install Office 2013 on my customer's new Windows 8 Tablet until possibly August 2013!!! Wow Microsoft, are you really going to deny a paying customer from buying Office 2013??!! Almost half of my Office 365 customers have been already upgraded to the 2013 version, but my Windows 8 Tablet customer has not received any notices of being upgraded anytime in the near future.
Anyone else having this problem? Anyone find a better solution? Microsoft, is this really how you want to build up your sales and reputation? It took a lot of persuasion to convince my customer to buy a Windows 8 Tablet instead of an iPad and Microsoft is making me look stupid now because I can't upgrade him to the Office 2013 plan!
