Sync to Outlook is not working?

Hi,
Pre the recent upgrade in Australia I ran multiple teams around the world and used multiple team sites to mange them. The "connect to outlook" feature was invaluable to mange the tasks for each team as any change would be reflected across all users in their project.

Since the upgrade the feature is now called "sync to outlook" and DOES NOT WORK, I have looked at many suggestion and found no answers so far.

On the client side I have Windows 8 with office 2013 PC's as well as Windows 7 with Office 2010 PC's all software is up to date.

I have tried to add new task list and sync to outlook but they do not appear in OWA or on the client PC's, My Tasks do sync but not the team site tasks.

Any ideas as this has gone from a trouble free experience managing projects pre upgrade with Windows 7/8 and Office 2010/2013 to one of frustration.
